Revenue from tourism has reached 90% of the one recorded in 2019 for the period January-October 2022, with the arrivals reaching just above 80, CNA reports.
The arrivals of tourists in Cyprus reached 400,628 in October 2022 compared to 391,638 in October 2021, recording an increase of 2.3%.
Cyprus tourism did very well, reaching 80% of tourist arrivals in 2019, with arrivals from the EU increasing by 22%, while for the first year in 2022 the budget of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism is fully absorbed, said Deputy Minister Savvas Perdios, who also underlined that the EU tourism market is “the most stable framework for the development of our tourism” over the next three years.
Cyprus residents’ trips abroad almost doubled in September 2022 compared to last year, according to data provided by the Cyprus Statistical Service. Tourist arrivals increased by 40.2% in August 2022, rising to 451,133 compared to 321,858 in August 2021.
