Attica will be without Metro and Tram service on Wednesday, April 17, as workers have decided to participate in the 24-hour strike called by the General Confederation of Workers of Greece (GSEE), ANA reports,
The workers are demanding direct hiring and employment contracts and are taking part in the strike against “the wave of austerity and shameful profits that affect the decent lives of millions of low-wage earners and pensioners,” as noted in an announcement by the Metro Workers’ Union of Athens (SELMA), which calls its members to Klafthmonos Square at 11 a.m.
