The metro station “Maniatika” will be closed on Saturday and Sunday, March 9-10, due to work to install electronic ticket sales equipment, ANA reports.
The temporary closure of the station is the first step in the gradual implementation of a project for the installation of new entrance and exit gates, automatic ticket machines, and Management Centres and concerns six stations on the extension of line 3 to Piraeus (Dimotiko Theatro).
The station will return to normal operation on Monday, March 11, though the new gates and ticket machines will not operate until some months later. The existing equipment, transferred to new locations, will continue to be used in the meantime.
