Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni discussed boosting tourism between Greece and France in a meeting with Ambassador of France Laurence Auer on Tuesday, ANA reports.
They highlighted promoting Greece as a top destination for the French through specific actions undertaken jointly by the two countries.
These actions relate to sustainable tourism development, as well as cultural and agricultural tourism. The Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) is also expected to cooperate in these actions, it was noted.
Their discussion also focused on the importance of the French market for Greek tourism, as French tourists account for the third biggest influx of tourists in Greece in terms of arrivals and travel revenue. Last month Kefalogianni and GNTO officials attended the International & French Travel Market – IFTM Top Resa trade show for tourism and travel, held in Paris.
The president of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels Alexandros Vassilikos and other tourism ministry officials also attended the meeting.
