Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni met with the Turkish Ambassador to Athens Cagatay Erciyes on Friday, ANA reports.
They discussed the need for joint actions in view of promoting tourism collaboration and connectivity ahead of the Supreme Council of Greece-Türkiye Collaboration meeting in Thessaloniki on December 7. They also examined ideas to involve the private sector, local communities, and local government in the collaboration.
The Turkish ambassador expressed his country’s interest in reactivating the pilot program facilitating tourist visas from Türkiye to selected islands of the eastern Aegean that ran to 2017. Kefalogianni agreed that the program had benefited Turkish visitors as well as tourists from non-EU countries.
