Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited the Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Ministry, the third ministry in a round of similar visits, on Friday, ANA reports. “We created this new ministry in response to a demand of the times. I am very happy because this ministry now stands firmly on its feet,” he said.
The prime minister pledged to greatly increase the resources available to deal with the impact of the climate crisis, especially wildfires.
“In the next few years we will procure new aircraft, new helicopters, many new means for the fire brigade,” he noted.
