The Amorgos Foundation held its 56th Annual Dinner Dance at the Cretans Association Omonoia in Astoria on November 4. The well-attended event brought together family, friends, and community members to enjoy a traditional music and dance-filled celebration reminiscent of the island.
Amorgos Foundation President Nikitas Theologitis gave welcoming remarks at the event thanking all those present for attending and showing their support for Amorgos. He then invited the clergy from St. Demetrios Cathedral to give the opening prayer, Fr. Anargyros Stavropoulos – Cathedral Dean and Fr. Nicholas Paros, as well as V. Rev. Archimandrite Vasilios Angelakis of the Sacred Patriarchal and Stavropegial Orthodox Monastery of St. Irene Chrysovalantou, who then shared his greetings and best wishes on behalf of the Abbot, His Grace Bishop Ierotheos of Efkarpia who could not attend. Fr. Angelakis thanked the organization for its efforts not only for Amorgians, but for all the Greek community here and in the homeland.
